"Blood-Red"

The Chouans were the royalist insurgents fighting in a civil war that opposed to the Republicans from 1791 to 1799.


The coat of the Chouan.
This long coat is very large. It closes with a belt but can also be worn open. The large neck opening on the middle and is highlighted by a very wide neck.

The Napoleonean cap.
The bicornuate cap is often associated with Napoleon. It however was the principal male cover-chief of the XVIIIe century.
